Join us in celebrating Juneteenth with a vibrant and inclusive parade in Ward 7, in the District of Columbia.
Juneteenth, observed on June 19, commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in the United States. This historic day is a time for reflection, celebration, and community building. Our parade aims to honor this significant milestone while showcasing the rich culture and history of our community.

2026 Juneteenth Parade & 5K Run/Walk
Proposed 2026 Parade / 5K Routes

The 2026 Juneteenth 5K will start and finish at the intersection of Branch Avenue and Q Street SE. Participants will begin by heading northwest on Branch Avenue SE, then turn right (east) onto M Street SE. From there, runners will turn left (north) onto 34th Street SE, then left (northwest) onto Massachusetts Avenue SE.

Near the intersection of Fort Dupont Drive SE and Fort Davis Drive SE, runners will loop around a cone and double back on Fort Dupont Drive SE.

Runners will then turn left (clockwise) back into Randle Circle SE, followed by a left (southeast) onto Branch Avenue SE, returning to the finish line at Branch Avenue and Q Street SE.
Please note: All distances are currently based on Google Maps. The route will be officially measured in coordination with a professional running club to ensure certification at exactly 3.1 miles (5 kilometers), and may need slight tweaks to ensure it is the proper distance.
